EOX Drum Mini Composition 1
Techniques
- Flam & drag embellismnets
- Percussive strokes (gu slap, bass fist)
Quick Tips
- Use your pointer and thumb when playing adjacent tone fields (pointer on the higher tone field and thumb on the lower
- Squeeze your fist before it lands in the bass stroke. This pushes out the padding in your hand where it strikes (thank you to Dan Mulqueen for teaching me this). Do not use the bass stroke on tone fields.
- I like using my middle/ring fingers on the gu slap. Experiment to get the slappiest slap. I find that on my EOX, this gu placement is more effective in isolating the slap sound than the typical handpan intersticial slap.
