I used to believe that I would continue to learn new instruments for the rest of my life, never stopping long enough to want to master them. I have studied piano, guitar, ukulele and flute to some level of mastery, but didn't find that fulfilling. Moving on, I studied bass, clarinet, alto sax, and picked up varying other percussion instruments to the same result.
Until I found the handpan.
An instrument that fulfills my need for creativity and technicality, that melds harmony, melody and percussion. An instrument that gave me an intrance into composition and improvisation in a manner I had never experienced before.
